Where the World is Quiet

The Lakeshore

Where the World is Quiet

I cant think of a better way,
To smolder this constant flame.
Of life's chaos and responsibilities,
Then this quiet lake that's been calling my name.

A squirrel scurrying through the bush,
The water licking at my feet.
My anxiety flies through the air with my fishing line,
In nature's embrace my heart calms to a steady beat.

For in this moment I am quiet,
The world and my life's troubles whisked away.
Maybe if I can capture this peace in the palm of my hand,
I can persuade it to stay.
