Poem -

To Be Young

Our lives are nothing but ash

Everything done in a quick dash

We are life without regret

But eventually we tend to forget

Forget about our youth

What we fought for nail and tooth.

Every stone must be overturned

Or we regret everything we learned

Every mountain we must climb,

Or we will lose everything sublime,

Every sad song must be sung,

To remember what it is, to be young.

To be frank, we must be rash,

To be honest, we didn’t have to crash,

I am sorry we are not stone set,

But just maybe, just possibly, no not yet,

We are not ready for that sooth,

Not ready for this truly impossible truth.
