The Darkness

The Darkness

The darkness always lingers deep inside

No place to go, no place to hide

The life I had left shrived and died,

Left me broken and without pride.

The voices will never subside

The constant battle between Jekyll and Hyde,

Taking each blow astride,

Watching the tears that have dried.

Beaten, bloodied, and bruised,

All of these lives I have abused,

Just so I could be amused,

Drunk on the power of the misused.

You have been accused

Of the horrid acts of the unused,

Your mind so diffused,

It will never again be infused.

Put the chains upon my hands

Thrown into the harsh dessert sands,

Where no one stands,

And no one understands.

Standing there with no plans,

Kicking around these cans,

Little bits of sanity scattered like strands,

Slowly slipping out of reality’s lands.
