Beasts of the Snow

Beasts of the Snow

Beasts of the Snow!

trudging slowly through this savage storm
a ghostly apparition in frozen snow
strangely shrouding his unique appearance
in temperatures of minus ten below

moving slowly while hunting for nourishment
features barely visible in churning winds
these big beasts are made to cope with this weather
with sturdy bodies and intelligent minds

these ancient beasts have lived in Yellowstone
walking in a line through this swirling storm
strong neck muscles holding their heads high
and thick fur keeping each creature warm

as this wintry storm roars on through the park
stealthily plodding on through heavy snow
these bison are just amazing animals
living in temperatures of minus ten below

Thank you Gwendoline,  winters in Yellowstone are very ferocious, so I'm glad that came through.
