Poem -

Beautiful Country

They forget just how thin
these walls are. She puts
a finger to his lips, whispers "hush."
They say the thingsĀ
they want to say
with their bodies that
words.can't begin to touch.

They melt into one another.
This is love so keen
it feels like a kind of grief.
Their bodies breath
and sigh as one.
He fears what might be taken from him;
he fears love as thief.

There's break - up loving
and make - up loving
and loving that
is no longer new.
But the loving they have
is a beautiful country,
the loving I have with you.
