The Beautiful Lotus
So you say they
Talk your name
And claim
You're nothing new
Just bull
But if you haven't noticed
Lotus, you are beautiful
Just bloom
Not once but twice
The things they say
Are all but nice
But that's because
Your light is bright
And their's is
Nothing more than dull
The light, it shined
When you became
Even beautiful in rain
You warped the hatred and the pain
They just can't pull
The tricks you pull
You are so wholesome
You are full
To call you
Something less
Than glowing
Means they're knowing
That you're growing
They can see your
Beauty flowing
And it's anything but bull
And if you haven't noticed
Lotus, you are beautiful

Indeed I too got a feeling after stepping back and looking at the canvas that it portrayed a meaning and symbol dating back as far as you have said, are you part Indian? I hope my love wherever she be finds this charming haha I just don't think there are enough nowadays who truly appreciate poetry, I guy can still hope

Just simply curious, sometimes when I see your picture and hear your views I wonder what you are because I can tell you are partially African American but I also knew you had to be a mix of something else, I too am part Cherokee but anywho this question mostly stemmed from pure curiosity haha much love brother

Heyyy CO!! So I just wrote this huge paragraph and it disappeared! I just wanted to say wow...not only is this poem beautiful but in my opinion it holds a deeper meaning. These lines really stood out to me:
"The things they say
ย Are all but nice
ย But that's because
ย Your light is bright
ย And their's is
ย Nothing more than dull"
In my opinion only jealous people hate and make others miserable because they have nothing better to do. I feel like in this poem you are trying to tell a certain someone that no matter what people say keep doing what you are doing and ignore any negative remarks. Anyway that isย just my perspective! Love it and an add to my favorites! Congratulations on your FB promotion!! You deserve it!!

I apologize for the late reply Val, but I hate when that happens, yesterday I wrote a poem that in my eyes was a masterpiece and it vanished just as I finished it, I was devastated but yeah you are absolutely right, because there will always, no matter who you are be a person that doesn't agree with anything you do, and that's fine just keep being you, thank you for stopping by and complimenting ob this piece you have my love and respect Val :)
