Beautiful People

Beautiful people
Aren't judged by imperfections
Or the beauty of their face
Not their gender
Sexuality
Colour
Religion
Or their race
Beautiful people
Should be recognised
For they make us feel so warm
Like sunshine
After lightening
They are the pause
In a hurricane
The eye of a storm
Beautiful people
Come in all sizes
Shapes
And forms
It's their thoughts
Actions
And personality
That separates them
From the norm

Syd mate, I love this. Having grown up in the '70s in the town that birthed British Punk. High Wycombe, home to The Extraverts (Nigel Martin is still a good mate) and the first place The Sex Pistols played most of my old mates are old original Punks. These frightening freaks so shunned back in the day are, unfailingly, the kindest, most caring and empathic, beautiful people I have been privileged to call friends.
Great write Syd, nailed it.

Thank you Nigel, I'm glad you liked this one. You're exactly right, appearances can be very deceiving. It's what's underneath that counts. Both of my parents were punk rockers when they met by the way. Their taste in music very much influenced mine. The Pistols were a much needed breath of fresh air. I wish I could have been around to witness it at the time.
Very little is original any more.

Syd, I forgot to say how stunning I think that track is. Is the guitar a Nashville steel played directly to mike? It has that power.
Nigel.
Hi Nigel, I'm not too familiar with what guitars created which sounds so I don't really know. You on the other hand must really know your music. I'm glad you like the track though, I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it. Especially the lyrics which are really quiet. It's a one that needs to be listened to at full volume. Like all good music should be I suppose.

Nashville steel guitars are steel bodied guitars with an amplifying cone in the sound box first known in Nashville. When you play them with a mike close to the guitar they sound like that. I can't play a note but I've roadied for SO many bands.

some of us have alays known this to be true..I dislike vane people,,lovely put Syd..
Thank you Pauline, I have nothing against beauty on the outside, but it's definitely inner beauty that's the more important.

I agree with your subject matter 100% but the way it was so smoothly written is what truly blew me away I strive to one day write such a seemless piece as this ???
Hi Rae Rae, I hadn't realised you'd commented on this poem. I usually reply much sooner. Thank you so much for your compliment but I'm sure that you're there already with regards to your writing.
