A Beautiful World

As I sit and try to figure why

with all I have I still yearn

trying to douse myself in love

while life fires slowly burn

penetrating my heart and consuming my soul

I don't always feel God delivering me from evil

sometimes I feel the devil take his toll

making me wonder, become unsure where instinct used to be my bond

yet still trying to hold on to life and love

hold my head high or just hold on

I want to feel again the sky turn blue not just to look at a random color

feel the warmth of the sun not fear the bangs of guns

and as I kiss my love feel our lashes flutter

keep the images of the streets secondary in my mind

if God is true aint much I can do and all will be solved...in time

As the days grow longer the negative grows stronger, it makes me wonder why I'm here

then I take to my art and I remember my part in this world I play is clear

I'm not here to stand around and not deliver my sound whether it applies to all or none

I'm to find true love know my lover like a glove live my life and still have fun

keep my children safe, let them learn from me so their mistakes will be their own

don't want them to inherit mine so ill take the time to let them know they will never

be alone

I'm to voice my opinion on right and wrong and when its not that bad feel free to rejoice

in song

I'm to laugh and cry for new birth and when loved ones die and accept the fact that

we can all be wrong

I'm to take chances and read get my feelings across whether I think or feel my words are ready

I'm to be a good friend when you need let in Ill be that rock when you need steadied

I'm not here to scan the past but to explore the future, ride and experience every place 

it leads

along the way thank my God every day that if I'm judged its by my deeds

There is a lot to life being a child husband or wife, but if we stick together we can make it

its when we let our bond fall apart that we experience all life naked

so ill cover your ass as you cover mine and we will walk our troubles together

I will stand with you throughout all time and I promise bad days will get better

as I walk with you from the dark to the light we will stay together hand in hand

when you look in my eyes there will be no surprise your support is a positive man

as these words take flight know I live in the light and if you cant see yet ill show you

once you come from the dark, and take a hold of that spark...there is a beautiful world
