THE BEAUTY AND POWER OF THE BLACK WOMAN

Daughter of the Sun-
You are the dark and evening star
Princess of Nubia- the land of the Blacks
Wherever your sisters dwell on the planet-
Do they know your Mother's legend?
From Ashanti to Zulu-
A multitude of Nubian tribes-
Are like seeds thrown into the wind-
Like children stolen from the Garden
Until you- our Queen- comes to save us
Behold- the Light from the darkness
Angels flew Her away to the wilderness
Are you not Isis resurrected?
See how many of us you gave birth to
It came from ancient Kush and the Kongo-
The beauty and power of theĀ Black woman
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Doesn't cocoa remind us of erotic jungles?
Or sexual pleasure drink from the cola nut?
You have daughters who taste like honey
Why were black roses made taboo?
Perhaps a dark pearl from the bottom of the ocean-
Is like coal that volcanoes turn to diamonds
Call to a generation of Nubian babies-
Don't you recognize your Mother?
Who would dare to make war against Her?
Is She not the Goddess forever?
Find a Black man who still loves and respects Her
You, Black man- take your place by Her side
All She wants is for us to need Her again
She carried us across oceans of blood and time
Her love makes the spirit inside me reborn
Glorify Her daughters- make the world remember-
The beauty and power of the Black woman
