I'm not exactly sure why

Why in the world do I have stuff I don't want and more than I need
While families in famished nations watch family members die from starvation
Why can't we fix the separation wedged between us
Why do we miss most of the meaning
hardly seeing the big picture
When can we relax
slip in our slippers
Twist up a swisher
And have a sip of elixer
If god was here
I'd pitch her the exact same perplexing question
Why are we passing tests but not learning lessons
Why are we destined to repeat the most horrible portions of our kinds history
Why don't we make drastic changes
Civilization isn't civil at all
Living in a sickening system
Unjustly judging everyone
No trust we expect the worst
Verbal assaults or physical outbursts
Poisonous politicians pushing pretend agendas from podiums until their mouth hurts
Why every election do we pick presidents that represent strategies we know don't work
The why's always win
I never get an actual answer
Because it's the way things are
