because shit happens
Like 1 Pin it 0These waves wash over meย
I am caught in a living mosaic,ย
Hindu symbols from temples to meditation embrace meย
Then, because shit happensย
I am swallowed wholeย
By the entire oceanย
First the Buddhist inside of me withers and dies,ย
Then the Christianย
Next a Jew and Muslim
There is nothing left to hideย
I am religion-lessย
Stateless,ย
Finally formlessย
Laying at the bottom of the terrifyingย
Oceanย
Next to Godย

I love your poetry Jai, very thought provoking. I would surmise that at the bottom of the ocean would be Satan but than again I really don't believe in God or Satan. I think because man has free will, we create our own brand of hell. Yes there is a higher power but it isn't a Christian God. Just some of my thoughts.

Your poem is probably as well suited for a philosophy or psychology class as for a poetry site. ย Really nice to read something thoughtful and thought provoking. I particularly liked the Hindu mosaic, the loss of all religion, then of state and finally even of form. ย I don't know what form to say "God" takes, but am sure there is "one" and as you say, shit happens.
