Because You Fear

Not out of thin air.

There’s a reason you feel it
A sore or a needle-pick
It just doesn’t appear
It’s there cause you fear.

You’re scared or you’re angry
and it’s making you dry
it’s getting inside you
and making you cry.

Send it back where it came from
It doesn’t belong,
It’s making you crazy
Not making you strong.

Don’t listen to dribble
That saps all your strength
But keep everything even
And you’ll find your own place.

Life can be painful
But far worse than that
Is one never lived
Because you were afraid.

You are who you are
And that’s good enough
But don’t think too highly
Just tread real lightly.

Then you’ll go places
That you never dreamed
Keep your hopes high
And keep your feet clean.
