Chase the Darkness

~~It threatens in the night
When you’re all alone
The darkness it creeps in
to test the hearts of stone.

What will it find there,
Peace and tranquility?
No, there is hiding
Nothing abiding in the darkness.

No one to help
Grasping at the netting
just a big spider web
you thought you saw.

The loneliness it gnaws like claws
Revealing bare skin with knots
Pain, no gain
Just darkness once again.

I remember feeling this way,
But the sun came out
And it was day
and chased the darkness away.
