Bedroom Walls

Bedroom Walls

These four walls see more than anyone
They have been there on every rollercoaster,
Witnessing the laughter
Along with the tears and blank expressions.
My pillows have had to catch my tears
As well as absorbing my nightmares,
It has comforted me in times of need
And created a safe space for the real me.

The picture on the television allows me to escape
Makes me forget where I really am,
It enhances my imagination
Provides a positive outlook on life.
The dirty mirror has seen more than it should
The redness in my face,
And the smudge of my mascara
After letting out what I don’t want the world to see.

There are pictures here of people I miss
But I have never forgotten,
And others that have walked away
But are still embedded in my mind.
Heaps of books aline with each other
Most still remain unread,
Others look like they have been made use of
Which remind me of something I once enjoyed.
