Poem -

BEDS and things like ....that....

The mattress holds onto me
Binding my sticky form with
glue
Like a lover
With long days to waste, to
Linger with me and
No other

It grips my waist, guides me
down
Wraps me up in nowhere
shrouds
Makes cocoons of airless
spaces
Offers silent life in
Warm dark places

The dogs whine, they want to
be fed
I send them good wishes
From all the ghosts in my
head
The day wears on
I cannot leave this bed
