Poem -

Begging my baby

My dear sweet child

Please go to sleep

I know teething hurts

But I'm begging

Past midnight with wide open eyes

You're fighting sleep with all you have

Dark circles line your eyes

And that sad little voice is wordlessly whining

I've done all I know

You don't want to be held

We've retreated to the living room where you rock in your swing

Dear child I'm so tired

And I know you are too

Please let us sleep soon and long

I promise it'll help you feel better

All through the night I'll sit next to you if you need

My sweet little baby

Even when we're exhausted

You still make me so proud and happy
