Behind Blue Eyes

Behind Blue Eyes

I see you sitting there below
the pale moonlight
Staring at the stars in the
black velvet night
Tears of sadness stream down
your pale light skin
As I call out your name in the
shadows of the midnight hour

You hear the sound of my
voice calling out to you
As you slowly turned your
head and stared at me
I could see the sadness behind
those pale blue eyes
Wondering why faith has played
with your heart emotions

Life has laid a heavy burden
deep upon your heart
Wishing for the time to come
to have everlasting sleep
For the love you held has slowly
faded away in the wind
You can not bear the pain that
shattered the soul within

You held your hand out and
touched my soft skin
Looking at me with those pale
blue eyes
Seeing the pain it holds
deep within
Puts a burden deep within
this heart of mine

I kissed your soft gentle
lips one last time
As I see that you are slowly
fading away
Time have left a scar deep
inside this broken heart
But the memories of your blue
eyes leave a smile upon me

There were many parts of this poem I loved. It was vivid and raw and very descriptive and deep as well. The lines below were my lines of choice but I love the recurring pale blue eyes it really pulls the whole thing together.

"I could see the sadness behind
those pale blue eyes
Wondering why faith has played
with your heart emotions"
