Behind my eyes

Behind my eyes

There’s a prison that hides behind my eyes,
Invisable walls and silent crys .
NoĀ  bars, no chains to see,
Yet I’m stuck inside but there's no key.

It lurks in shadows, deep and still,
A fortress built by fear and will.
I smile outside, but here I roam,
A captive in a place I call home.

The guard is doubt, it knows my name,
It whispers failure, feeds my shame.
I pace these halls, a well-worn track,
Longing for the path to take me back .

I carry this weight where no one knows,
Behind my eyes, it grows and grows.
And though I try to find the door,
ThisĀ  prison holds me screams more more more

Yet somewhere, faint, a voice remains,
A hope that echoes through the chains.
Perhaps one day, I’ll drop my disguiseĀ
And free the soul that hides behind my eyes.
