Betrayal

She did this to me. That's why I wrote it.

Betrayal

I give you my secrets
And know you’ll keep them for yourself
I trust you in my darkest moments
You are my safe place

You are where I want to be
You’re the best that’s ever happened to me
But that has changed
Because you are not who I thought you were

You turn on me
I give you my heart
But you throw me away
As if I’m a piece of garbage

I didn’t say
Here I am with all my secrets
I want you to betray me
I want you to hurt me

I didn’t say
I love you
But I need you to punch me in the face
And I want you to break my heart

Again

I trusted you to keep my secrets
And to keep me safe
I trusted you to not betray me
And even though you said you wouldn’t

You did it anyways.

Being Me

Every time we open our heart to someone we lay it on the line ... and sometimes a huge freight train comes and runs over it. Betrayal is a massive freight train. But what is the alternative? Never to open up to anyone ever again? That would make for a lonely life. We have to risk it and sometimes we get hurt but othertimescwe find true love. Sorry you suffered betrayal.... but you've written a great poem x
