Poem -

Betty

"Her mind and heart were shattered

She wanted freedom, to escape this madness

Her life hopeless, her body filled with sadness

Mind screaming, tears falling, her face wet

All she wanted was to feel content

She felt unloved, untouched, and scared

Realizing her family never really cared

The cuts on her arm, were deeper and red

All she wanted was to feel dead

She took the time to write a letter

Assuring her family everything will be better

She placed the note next to her favorite teddy

Signing the letter, sincerely, Betty

She climbed on top of her dresser

Saying out loud "mommy and daddy I just wanted to feel better"

She looked down 12 stories then closed her eyes

Tired of mommy and daddy's lies

She was falling and finally free

This is what it is like to feel happy"
