Beyond Sense
I hear beyond the silence of the evening,
your voice is clear and melodious and
like a breath in the spring
or the drop of dew on a rose.
The sound fills my soul
I see through the veil of ย crushing disillusion
a face afresh withย trust and faith
and courage to face an unknown future
with only love to cling to.
The sight fills my eyes
I smell the evening sea as the tide begins to turn.
Through open windows the scent engulfs me.
The essence ย of you lingers on my body,
musky ย fragrance unexpected, fleeting.
The smell of you like incense rising
I taste ย the bitterness of regret
not having found you sooner.
To have livedย without the taste of you on my tongue
would be to have lived a vapid existence.
I savour the flavour of you.
I feel a smile that never wants to leave,
arms that want only to hold you.
A connection drawing us through all the senses,
to feel a proximity to you that is immeasurable.
I feel I have found my ย forever love

Hi Tony xxx I seem to be going through quite a 'mushy' stage at present..but perhaps its because I have taken time out to realise that some things in life are beyond value and so often we overlook them...despite challenging timesย beauty is still around and in the smallest of things sometimes...we just need to use our senses to see, feel and appreciate them..just as I appreciate all the wonderful 'family' I have found on Cosmo..andย thank you especially you my brother poet! xxxxxx
