Poem -
Beyond the Pale
Wanting, desperately to escape the pain
A life refrain, but madness reigns
Screaming out, to any available ear
With fear, of what remains unclear
The fire creeps up beneath her feet
The heat, shedding layers of costumed skin, incomplete
Her lost fairy tale, beyond the pale
So much to be gained from loss
At what cost?Β
A lifetime of cringe-worthy acts, stacks and STACKSΒ of regretful acts
But what lies within, could it all be diseased by a mere one sin? ~kjl

And yes, much of what I wrote comes from a place of pain, which comes sadly, very naturally, but much of it is in the past, as it sounds like yours is too.
