Big Brown Eyes

Smile, you're on camera, being watched, carefully
A pair of big brown eyes watching my every move
And when exhaustion has taken over
Remember, those big brown eyesĀ love to ponder
Ā I could sell my soul for a wink of sleep
I turn towards those big brown eyes and realizeĀ
I am a women, I am not engineered to be weak
Emphatically I finish the task at hand
The screams that echo inside my consciousness are silenced
Silenced by her big brown eyes, twinkling at me, with the most genuine admiration
I am a women, I am not engineered to be weak, I repeat
I am not engineered to be weak
I will sleep when I am dead, until then, I amĀ a hero to those big brown eyes
Some day we will have it good, I repeat
Some day we will have it good.....
Some day we will have it good.....

Hey amber I know all too well how my son is growing up. He talks like an adult already and he is only 9. The things he asks me blows me away sometimes . Kids are amazing to watch and help them learn to grow . Loved your poem. Hugs to you rockĀ
