Birthday

Birthday

A quiet stumble lapses,
till the days release,
my body unfurling
like fresh wings
of a newborn butterfly.

Unthinkingly beautiful,
wandering curiously, whilst
weaving in and out of each
small moment.

The days come and go,Β
tides of time gently lapping
my patterned back

and even if
the water on my wings
remains heavy,
I am still able to fly.Β
