Bitter Grapes

Over the decades and over many lands
I have discovered that I can tolerate a little cold as long as there is blue sky
We are in the thick of a change of gears and I am trapped in Sydney and cannot breathe
It is meant to be summer but we're being dogged by winter days
Someone bring back the sun to set my blood ablaze!
My life is slowing down to a stop
My light is dimming down into a sleep
At this rate I fear this city will rest me into peace
But I could never be at peace in the soil of such a place
Trampled underfoot by a cut throat rat race
"How long oh Lord must I suffer here?" I grumble
This is bad sportsmanship I know
But it's taking its toll on my mental morale
Of course there are those that have it far worse
So I should "eat cement and harden up", as my son would say
It's just a grey day among days of days
It's bound to get better hey

"Eat cement and harden up" 🤣🤣🤣 Love it! I am going to drag this phrase along with me all the way through 2021. Sorry you are feeling trapped somewhere you dont like. Hope you can move soon. All the best to you and yours for the New Year x
