Poem -
black and white
some people just don't get it
to we are all the same
past history,white done wrong
strength come's to those who know
black the people they caused unrest
a life of black fighting against black
against each other because of white
look back! read more!
and feel like they do
as a white girl i 'm ashamed
sorry for my race and i go with them in this
so many turn their back
pretend it's not there
we are not are ancestor's
we can make up for the cruel ,disgusting
way we treated
stamp out racism
bring in the love we mix
then why?
do some ignorant people
and that's what they are get over it!
jealous of the beauty it bring's
because they can't see past their own colour
white

Dear Tina,
Those who read this and comment on it as merely a poem would rather speak about art than race- some people would like the race issues to be forgiven and forgotten- yet the entire modern world was built on the blood and bones of those who can't be forgotten. Who taught us all how to think and behave - regarding Black and white? Even today, so-called Black progress is measured against what white people feel comfortable with. What about Latinos/Hispanics and Asians and East Indians and Native Americans and Arabs and (did I leave anyone out?) Aren't we all perceived and judged by how far away we are from humanity's Afrikan roots? Humanity cannot escape its past- IF we are to have a future- unless they imagine some future without Blacks. Nobody wants to talk about that though.
thanks james you know more about the past history than anyone through you i've learnt a lot of whats really happened and happening to all black a sad history which someone has to stand up and stop it
