The hypocrisy is rampant in the MSM and throughout elite world ! Thank You for standing out! Thank You for your words ! There was a perfect Biblical analogy made recently...The MSM were the [scribes]....educators were the [priests]....politicians were the [Pharisees] and they have been trying to crucify Trump from the word GO!
Comedy is comedy. It is a fact of life that people, rightly or wrongly, take the piss out of each other. Certain things quite rightly should be pointed out as shameful. I am against racism. There is no place for it in today's world. Racial injustices must be laid to rest. We need a bright new colourful world. I can totally understand why the comedians painting their faces black has been stopped. It is not nice. I don't know in what context Melania's accent was ridiculed. She is married to the president and as such she will be a target for comedians. They will be trying to impersonate her. Use her character to make fun of her husband etc. Not saying it is right but personally I think we need a little laughter in the world. There is still a line that must not be crossed. But taking the mickey out of her accent maybe bordering that line but not sure if it crosses it.
I have to say, I love the way your writing brings up discussions and gets us thinking a lot more about things. You are brilliant at that, Greg. I'm sorry it has taken me so long to look at but I have had a very poorly pony to look after... Sadly the pony did not make it and it is only now where I have been able to take a look on here again. Hope you are keeping well x

I am so sorry for your loss. Thank you for reading. A family member of mine has a very strong Russian accent. People in her profession have ridicule her for this. She is a leader in her field but people uses her weakness to mock her. It is very hurtful
Picking on someone's accent is just as hateful as picking on someone because of the color of their skin.
Ah!! Yes I see! What your relative is suffering is definitely abuse. Nasty. And yes, that comes under racism as they are ridiculing her foreign accent. You are right. That is just as nasty as ridiculing colour. And it is as nasty as picking on someone for a disability.
But what I was on about was how comedians pick up on people's ways and mannerisms etc to make us laugh. In that case they would use an accent, maybe, to help their work. In this case though, the accent would be used but not ridiculed. To ridicule an accent is wrong and amounts to bullying and racial discrimination. But to use that accent in a scene where political beliefs were being ridiculed for comedy purposes then that is okay. For example, if a comedian was doing a sketch on, say, Putin, on a camping holiday, then the accent would have to be used. That would be pure comedy. So would a sketch on Donald and Melania at marriage guidance (where again, Melania's accent would be utilised). If, on the other hand a comedian did a sketch on some Russian campers just making fun of their accents alone, that would be wrong and NOT funny. At times it is a very, very thin line that the comedians walk. And that was what I was meaning in my earlier comment. The way comedians use these things, cleverly. That should be allowed. Borat or the Meercats on Compare the Market Adverts, is genius. The way "Office comedians" (i.e thugs) belittle others for their own perverted amusement is nothing but bullying and must not be allowed.
I am sorry that your relative suffers this abuse in the work place. I hope she has reported it. And if nothing is done then I hope she will sue the company. No one should be bullied in the work place and it is an offence to do so. I hope it resolves for her. And I hope my earlier comment has now become clearer... I thought you were talking about Comedy and how it uses things and picks up on things to turn them around for our amusement. I did not think you were talking about a poor girl getting bullied at work, that is a whole different ball game x
