Black Lives Matter

Freedom is better than the air we breathe,
Free movement, free opinion is all you need,
Free to wonder my land, free to walk the forests, the warm sands.
The horizons eclipsed with vessels never seen before,
They all smile at first when they came ashore.
Little did we know all had black heart to the core,
In time they bought sadness to every door.
Taking from the family, burnt down my home,
I left my loved ones desolate and alone.
Many, many days on the open sea,
Sickness, death is all we could see.
Only half survived when we arrived.
This is such a strange domain,
Laughed at, caged, many went insane.
Centuries have passed, has much changed?
We live our lives as they forcefully arranged.
They put us in high rise, put us in low land,
All the worst places that came to hand.
We will never forget where we came from,
And who we are inside,
Its time now, today,
To turn to the tide.
