Poem -

BLIND

She reached down
From a great height
To save him

But the black waters
Which once terrified him
Now soothed him

And he no longer had need
Of the light
For he had lost his sight

Completely.

The darkness becomes all he knows. The place they wish to stay.
They have given up trying to climb out of the abyss and have made
it their comfortable friend.. I can relate to this with several people I know.
It is sad that they would rather make friends with the pain then
change to evolve out of it.

Absolutely incredible. I don't know if this was the angle you were taking but from where I'm sitting, the man isn't physically blind, but instead can't see a reason to live. Even if that isn't the approach you were taking, this piece of poetry is short, yet by far one of the best poems I have ever had the pleasure of reading. Bravo!
