Blink 182 Already Said It: This Is Growing Up

I have clung too tightly to existences buried in my sleep

I have touched the soft lips of a Sunday dawn

Counted the freckles of the night sky

Wondering

Waiting

When is it my turn

It's been so long since we said goodbye

There's a touch of transparency in most eyes

Although the deep frown of your mouth says hunted

There's a hollow somewhere in this home

It grows deeper by the second

The pink tips of soft fingers pry open closed eyes

I am forced to watch the world turn on its axis

With or without me

Time hinges on nothing

Blink away an eternity

Footnotes in a short complicated story

What does it mean to live wholly

The sensation of a deeper peace ever so sweet

Glancing off dark eyes; falling at darker feet

The beginning of understanding is the death of bliss

My mother said adulthood was lonely

I haven't stopped feeling lonely ever since
