Blood Diamond Rhyme

Blood Diamond Rhyme

I was dug from the soils of the motherlandย

now I am misplacedย

from one hand to the other handย

smugglers compiled day to day miseryย

apartheid was and became historyย

too many children lost their lives geographicallyย

no explanation, it was just a case of sporadically.

In the mines was where I heard them dyingย

the unfamiliar sounds of grown men cryingย

illegal smuggling, people strugglingย

this was the maturity of the diamond trade crazeย

slavery had declined with cottonย fields ablaze

diamonds are forever

or maybe never.
