Blood Diamond Rhyme

I was dug from the soils of the motherland 

now I am misplaced 

from one hand to the other hand 

smugglers compiled day to day misery 

apartheid was and became history 

too many children lost their lives geographically 

no explanation, it was just a case of sporadically.

In the mines was where I heard them dying 

the unfamiliar sounds of grown men crying 

illegal smuggling, people struggling 

this was the maturity of the diamond trade craze 

slavery had declined with cotton fields ablaze

diamonds are forever

or maybe never.
