Blood of a Slave

Blood of a Slave

The blood flows in my veins
The pain flows through my brain
People wonder about me, but if you asked me
I couldn't explain
Why are so many black men letting this society
Rage them
We have the blood of slaves
so this is why so many black men let society
Cage them
Leaving their children to the earth and streets
to raise them
Behold another story about black lives, lost tribes
Searching for destiny with no destination
I'm trying to remember our history, some people say his story
Our history is all we had and now it's history
Told in ways where most things are forgotten
So we adapt to life, dig our own grave, slowly die away and rot
I'm thirsty Walking through the hot desert like Moses
searching for freedom
still I quest for life's meaning
