BON YOYAGE

Where to now she asked 
As the tears fall from her eyes 
Leaving tracks of sadness 
From her freshly painted mascara 
Gliding down her freckled cheeks

She had grown to love him over the years 
As he shared his heart with her
Telling of his deepest secrets, desires 
And fears of the unforeseeable future 

She loved to hear him speak 
He brought about a freshness 
That awaken her senses 
Causing her heart to melt at the sound 
Of his voice 

But she needed more than he had to offer 
And he recognized his incapabilities

So he decided to give way to her desires 
Even though she was his only love
And he will be forever torn 

He set sails into the arms of the endless waves 
With a kiss goodbye their fingers retracted 
And so did his heart 

For he had given her his best
And emptied himself 
Of his genuine love for her.
