Bones of Thought

The eyes swirl and ponder, and ponder and swirl. Such sophic
Eyes; and ponder not her sister; for she dances clairvoyant.
But ever this gray; and night drips spirit; and Spirit drips
Light; and what to give—a healing sea: a mystic fig. Such
Soul; and such craft; and such patience. A ghost vanished, and
One arose; and chanters peeked; and yogis felt; and mystics
Prayed. I watch emotion; and thirst the core; and feel the waves;
And stream amore. Years have died—the fears of yore; and
Memories claw—and strip the door; and thus the heart—a
Partial vein; and thus the mind—a driven train; and rupture
Joy, a tender root; and sullen joy, a structured hoop; and gesture
Nice, a hidden pain; and screaming grace, a trace of flame. Â
I pause and gaze, and gaze and pause; and all the while—a rise
And fall—and all the stars—a walk and crawl.
