BOOMERANG!

You passed me by on skid rowÂ
And looked the other wayÂ
You thought I did not recognized youÂ
But some things never changeÂ
The way you walked, my old friendÂ
Has never slipped my mindÂ
And after all that we've been throughÂ
How could you be so unkindÂ
Tragedy caught me in a tailspinÂ
Turning my life upside downÂ
I was forced to move from the east sideÂ
To the lower part of townÂ
The death of my wife had crushed meÂ
The one i had loved was goneÂ
Like dust sifted twice I was brokenÂ
Depression became my only songÂ
How can you forgetÂ
The kindness I had shown youÂ
When you were down and outÂ
Your children did eat from my tableÂ
As I showed you love without a doubtÂ
But now, my bed is the sidewalkÂ
He who once sparkled is dressed in ragsÂ
I must be content with food discardedÂ
And I pray that your action of silenceÂ
Don't ever boomerang.

I think it really sad that in this day and age people are still homeless. And it can easily happen to anyone. Great poem x
