Boris The Toothless Beaver

There once lived a Beaver called Boris, who was born without any teeth,

He sucked on the leaves, and the bark of the trees, he then hid in his dam underneath

Poor Boris, was very unhappy, he longed to chew wood like the others,

To gnaw down big trees, with the greatest of ease, just like his sisters and brothers

His family all knew that he struggled, so Dad called a meeting one day,

He gathered the creatures together, and this is what he had to say

“Our Boris is so sad and lonely, he feels like he’s always left out”,

“He can’t eat his food good and proper, of that there can be not one doubt”

So the colony all clubbed together, with the ducks, the voles and the otters,

And bought poor young Boris, the shiniest pair of ENORMOUS false beaver choppers!

The family and friends got together, as the gift had arrived for young Boris,

All beautifully wrapped by his sister, (with help from her duck friend called Doris)

Dad, he then shouted out “BORIIISSS”, “I’ve got something here, just for you”

“OK Dad, I’m coming” cried Boris, “Just give me a minute or two”

Boris then wandered out slowly, and said “why is everyone here?”

His Dad said “We thought you’d like these mate”, “So now you can eat with no fear”

All the family and creatures cheered loudly, as Boris then popped in his choppers,

“Thank you so much” he said, overjoyed, “I can now give our Brian back his loppers”

Boris is now so, so happy, he gnaws down the trees with such pride,

He met a young beaver called Betty, who soon would become his new bride
