Poem -

Born

Ripped from my warm capsule of life,

Surrounded by many a mask,

My liquid pool of comfort gone,

My link to home severed,

A sting on my behind,

A breath of air rushes in,

Bright lights, noise, no longer muffled,

No soft music and gentle loving rubbing,

Voices of urgency,

Passed around to strangers, cleaned up,

Tears of happiness heard,

Naked I scream, who, what, how, why,

Wrapped in earthly material,

Handed to loving hands,

At ease I feel, settled,

Familiar gentle voices from the past,

That comforting hand I remember,

I’m hungry,

My memories to make,

My new life has begun.
