Breaking down

Breaking down

When I am breaking down.
I can only hear that sound.
It echos off the walls,
through the doorways and the halls.
Deep inside I only scream.
I wish this was a dream.
I have lost every ounce of trust.
My hopes and dreams have turned to dust.
I don't know why I keep fighting.
There's proof there's no point trying.
I am looked inside a cage,
with demons filled with rage.
I am dreaming every night,
of some other kind of life.
I am trapped inside my skin,
in a world consumed by sin.
I am dreaming every night,
of somebody else's life

Hi Danielle, when we write it is often assumed that we ourselves are experiencing what we have written- if that is the case here then I really hope things have improved  for you since you wrote it- if it isn't the case then you have captured that feeling of sadness, depression and hopelessness really well and with great imagination!..5 stars  for this emotional ink!! Thank you for sharing
