Poem -

Breathe

Tears streaming.

Hearts breaking.

The onslaught of our silent pain.

Silent silhouettes.

Sssh.

No one understands the rage

The need to lash out

Instead of self imploding.

Breathe in.

Exhale.

The pain is physical.

Emotional.

Mental.

Sickness follows suite.

Sickness of the mind,

of the heart.

Breathe in.

Exhale.

Sigh.

This sickness overwhelms the soul.

It poisons the mind.

A disease, waiting to destroy every living cell.

Every ounce of your being.

To destroy your joy.

Or what's left of it.

Still breathing?

Good.

Exhale.

We've been strong for too long.

Every ounce of strength has turned into weakness.

Brokenness.

Sheer abandon.

Someone, anyone...

Please help.

Tears fall.

They speak to no one.

Silent silhouette.

A light flickers in a dark, empty tomb.

The pain isn't yours alone.

It's ours.

We share the same cuts.

The same depth of hurt.

The same scars.

Breathe this in, my friends.

Let this hold you when nothing else can.

We are one.

Children of the light.

Children of the King.

Wait, this King...

Does he not feel our pain?

Didn't he bleed out,

on a tree

So that we could overcome this terrible pain?

This burden called life?

Hmm...

Our pain,

Our anguish

And our...

Wait.

Scratch that.

Listen.

Once we receive this King,

This holy being who died

so that we may LIVE,

It is no longer OUR pain.

He takes this pain.

He places it all,

NOT part of it,

ALL of it

On His shoulders.

He wants to carry it.

He wants us to experience

the fullness of life without this pain.

Still with me?

Good.

He died,

so that we may live.

So that we can have a chance.

So...

The choice is yours.

Will you let this pain,

this sickness of the soul..

Rule your life?

Or will you place it into the

hands of someone who can change the course of your

life?

Think about it.

Breathe in.

Exhale.
