Broken Spirit

When will it happen, will it ever stop?

Will the darkness lift, will the heaviness drop?

To live in sadness, hatred and fear

My spirit has broken, so much heartache and tears

So long it has been, since I have seen light

 I once loved life, laughter brought delight

Beauty and brilliance, together it stood

Happy and forceful, the perfect soul food

All I have today is darkness, so black

So lost and alone, can't find my way back

Tired and diseased, my body cannot heal

To my soul and my spirit, life has no appeal

Soon, I hope, the light will come

Bringing food for my soul, healthy, wholesome

To heal this battered body and the broken spirit

With love, peace and laughter, let there be no limit...
