Poem -

"brown recluse" or "may is over"

you were born as an island
in the north atlantic
mother nature's folly
painting flowers for a garden

somewhere in a tundra
fooling a treeless meadow
an overlooked brown recluse
hiding in my bedroom

you're gonna haunt me,
but i still love you,
so go ahead & make
your web in the corner

and there's a picture
you drew & hated
of an explosive payload
blowing up a mountain

i sailed towards the arctic
to some isles to find you,
but you were the cold front
that pushed my boat home (corny, i know)

inside my bedroom
looking for a twister
"i'm wide awake, its morning"
is playing in the corner

you died a texture
of some old curtains
repressing the sounds of
rain watering an ocean

i hope they love you like i did
o' brown recluse
please, quit hiding
may is over
