BYE BYE BILLY

Bye bye Billy please don't forget me
Wish you farewell as you cross the sea
Arriving no doubt in a new foreign shore
That's what happens in the name of war

Bye bye Billy write to me when you can
I thank God daily I wasn't born a man
Think of me Billy as I will think of you
Those romantic times we had at Waterloo

Bye bye Billy it's going to be hard I know
The front I'll put on will just be for show
Get home safe Billy and then it will be
A far better world that includes you and me
