‘Call It What You Will’?

As I mature I evaluate my life
I divert from unnecessary negatives
Things that cause me strife
You see nowadays I can’t be bothered
‘Anything for a peaceful life’
Turning a blind eye to ‘tittle-tattle’
I’m just a ‘getting-on’ housewife
Worriments & woe
never used to trouble me years ago
I was young & in my prime
So I didn’t crave a ‘hassle-free’ time
Now there are moments of madness
‘Call it what you will’
I’d like to live on an isolated island
simply to solitary ‘Chill’
I’m convinced our personalities
want the opposite from when we’re young
I used to adore hustle & bustle
But those crazy days are long, gone flung
So give me a tv drama
I shall grab a blanket for my body
In my element lost in the moment
Wrapped up all snug with a hot toddy
Gone are the days of loopy, linedancing
Every evening full of sweat
Jumping around like ‘Calamity Jane’
As active as a ‘Jumbo jet’
‘Tooing & frowing’ on the school runs
Taking Grandma to the shops
I was ‘always on the go’
With no rest time nor needed stops
Well those active days are sadly gone
My energy has lost it’s zest
I’m in the twighlight of my aging
I’ve done it all now I need a rest!!
