CALL ME WEIRD

I NEVER LIKED CHOCOLATE
CANT STAND THE SMELL,
AND THE TASTE HURTS MY FACE
YACK!
TO ME ITS NEVER COOKED WELL.

I ONCE HAD PENUTS,
AND BUMPS WERE ALL OVER MY SKIN,
MY MOM RUSHED ME TO THE ER,
FOR A SHOT OF BENADRYL.

SEA FOOD ARE ENJOYED MY MANY,
SMILING AS THEY FEAST AWAY,
BUT LET ME TOUCH A LOBSTER,
I’LL PROBABLY FAINT AWAY.

SOME PEOPLE CALL ME WEIRD,
BECAUSE MY CHOICE OF FOODS
ARE DIFFERENT FROM THEIRS,
BUT WHAT THE HECK DO I CARE,
WE ARE ALL WEIRD IN DIFFERENT WAYS.

WILFORD BARKER.

cheers to being unique! enjoyable and entertaining read as always. I can relate I'm  allergic to shrimp and learned the hard way, almost died and never have tried again. I can eat scallops, lobster, clams etc but no shrimp.

Hey Robert.. I am so happy to read your comment..
It’s so easy for someone to jump to conclusions about you, without knowing the facts.
but what the heck.. they call me weird.. You call me unique.. I am with you my friend..
Keep away from that shrimp… live long and prosper my friend.

Likewise WB, i still don't believe you live in Newark... I've worked and stayed in Stanhope and most were to busy with the hustle and bustle to be friendly or compassionate. I remind myself regularly I write for myself and use poetry as a self therapy but besides ourselves if our work makes sense or helps one other person out of a million then it was worth the effort. UNIQUE for sure, I remember someone on here comparing you to Peter Parker! You're a hero for sure! Keep being your "weird" self :)!!
