Call of the Tempest

I sat on ancient stones of a wall
that stretched far into the dark
on a night the moon forgot to grace
faint rustle of palm trees breaking silence
swollen waters crashing on stones,
built to endure punishment for eternity
rain drops fell on sands of time
carrying the scent of an impending storm

I watched the star-freckled sky
gently breathed your name into the wind,
a hundred times
did you hear my voice in a quiet moment
suddenly emptiness returned, swallowed my breath
yet your name escaped shivering lips,
a hundred times

I heard a woman call me in strange tongue
an enchanting creature-- longing in her voice
yet your eyes she did not possess
it is only call of the sea I heard
violent waters may carry my anguish
or return me to it's loving abyss

I am tired of being dead among the living
I am tired
I wish further into dark waters I   had walked.

My Dear Friend Lost,

There was a famous woman, her name was "Tempest Storm";
She drove men very wild, with her body's perfect form!
Yet above them all, she chose "me", we loved for nigh a year;
Then one day she upped and left me, now her name I ever hear!

It echoes in the caverns, of my very broken heart;
It taunts me like a Siren, my soul it tears apart!
By the Ocean of Insanity, I sit on ancient stones;
Begging depression to engulf me, or leave me the fuck alone!

Peace and Love,
Larry xxx

Larry, your response is a gem. Turning the Tempest into the lover, very Shakespeare. Thank you
