Poem -

Can you feel my pain?

I’m beaten daily
Laid upon forcefully
My face swollen
Unrecognizably

Can you feel my pain?
Please set me free

Twice a week bathing
Refrigerator always bare
Barely eating
I’m living in a damn nightmare

Can you feel my pain?
Please set me free

One shirt and one pair of
jeans
Made to go to school with
disgraceful hygiene

Can you feel my pain?
Please set me free

I’m slowly dying inside
I say a little prayer
I need to get free, Lord please do
me this favor

Can you feel my pain?
Please set me free
