CAN YOU HEAR ME

Shouting as loud as I canÂ
With screams from the bedrock of my heartÂ
The need to be rescued
From this drought of lonelinessÂ
Such unbearable solitary confinementÂ
Caused by the deception of the one I lovedÂ
The apple of my eyes and the life of my soulÂ
Has left me blinded with tears of sadnessÂ
And pierced through the heart with the dagger of deceitÂ
I am like a ghost in a crowded roomÂ
Unseen and hollow on the insideÂ
A foreigner to the language of my birth
Overwhelmed and consumed by the inability to loveÂ
Because of the excruciating pain that never ceasesÂ
But can you hear meÂ
Am I so distant from you heart of compassionÂ
Or your mind of reasoningÂ
That you will not turn or look in my directionÂ
O, that I may hear the voice of affectionÂ
Or a word of encouragementÂ
To salvage my wounded soulÂ
Where are the righteous onesÂ
Is there a god who deliversÂ
Who can I turn to in my darkest hourÂ
How can I escape this sentence of deathÂ
Caused by the one I'd pledged my forever to
Can you hear me.
