Canine

Canine

gratitude..
of a different kind
for I have no child
not of the human kind
but the humane kind
the unconditional kind
the one with no voice
the love of this kind
the kind with no judgment
not of man kind
the jealous kind
like the female kind
with endless forgiveness
not the pretentious kind
the genuine kind
with no assumptions
the helpless kind

not of a selfish nature
the sacrificing kind
of a sweet creature
not the beastly kind

one of rapture
the joyful kind
a musing teacher
the effortless kind

one of a pet
the four legged kind

do not judge me
if  you do not know
the love of this kind

the love of a canine

Thank you everyone.!! I actually wrote this last year and realized yesterday that I had not posted it on Cosmo.  I just adopted another cutie from a 'kill" shelter.  I wish there would be more control over overbreeding.  Dogs only need love.  I read in Einstein's biography that he said until you have fallen in love with at least two animals in your life, you haven't lived life to the fullest.  Anyway, I'm glad you all liked my poem.   And Tony, thank you for the compliments on the style.   It's actually one of my favorites.
