Can('t) See

Can(‘t) See Poem

You know how the saying goes

That at the end of the tunnel there will be a light

But with my struggles and woes

The end still looks dark as the night

Tripping, falling, and stumbling

Trying find my way around

Under my breath, mumbling

That the light will never be found

Can't find the destination

Overwhelmed I do become

Long forgotten is the feeling of elation

And to all the pain I become numb

I stop and begin to wonder

Do I have anything left

Doubt louder than thunder

But I won't give up yet

Although I am weary

Slowly back to my journey do I go

I reach deep inside of me

To the depths of my soul

Step by step I begin to take

This long journey I try to make

Just when I thought it would never be

I look ahead and the light I can see
