Poem -

Can’t You Hear

I am one of the voices you don’t hear
I am crying out for help
I don’t have the basic things I need to survive
Do you hear my crying?

I cry out in my pain
My family has no food
I have no medicine when I am ill
Can’t you hear my pain?

My water is unfit to drink
My garden is unable to grow vegetables
My home is unstable
My hope is wearing out

I cry out in pain
My children are starving from no food
I have no medicine when I am ill
Can’t you hear my pain?

My pain will be heard
Help will be provided
Please reach out and take my hand
Hear my pain and come aid me

I cry out in my pain
I’m one of the worlds poor
Can’t you hear my children’s pain?
Can’t you help to ease my pain?
